I love my wood boat, I'm new to this , I bought my first wood boat this year, It needed some work and I fell in love with working on it. Randy and Sandy helped with questions and sent me the parts I needed to make it right again. what a great way to fish and float the rivers of Idaho. I make my living as an illustrator you can see my work on my web site www.danburr.com I guided for a bunch of years for a local fly fishing outfitter, now I guide my 11 yr. old boy and let him in the action, I am content to row the woody.

Henry's Fork Browns

The action is picking up on the Henry's Fork of the Snake, It ought to be great fishing the same time as AJ's boat show in Wilson. The Salmon flies should be out and the big fish too.

Boat Show Poster

Earlier this year I was asked to illustrate the latest poster for the upcoming wooden boat show. Randy let me do what ever I wanted for the design, I chose to paint a wooden boat (duh) from the inside or looking down into the boat. that is what I find myself looking at when I am just standing looking at my boat, I love how these boats are put together, and that inspired me to do this poster, I used a photo of my boat and one Randy sent me for the reference to paint from. Hope you wooden boat… Continue

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:(mrsstellaabudheir@gmail.com ) for the full details.

Have a nice day

Thanks God bless.

Stella.

cool,

guess it depends on the shafts and the blades. cat shafts seem to go for $125 and $150 new for sgx and sgg respectively. not sure on the sawyers. standards cat magnum blades sell for $75 new or so. thats about all i know. kinda just been lookin around trying to feel out the market. i have a set of smokers now, and while the wood feels great, i'm looking for something lighter and better suited for heavy water. i'll probably try and build a set of spruce fishing oars..sounds like a fun project for this season if i can't find shop space to start the new build.

Thanks for posting the poster Dan, It's perfect.

That rock in Whitehorse sets just under the water at some river levels. The rowers can't see it and need to know where it is or suffer this fate. There have been many boat of all kinds taken off that rock.

Thanks again for the help.

Dan,
Nice job on the poster... very cool. And... nice job on your boat - I've never seen one quite like it... awesome. You need to bring that over to the Boat Festival - it would look "stunning" on the McKenzie River.
Can't wait to get your poster framed and up on the wall...
Thanks for bringing your considerable talents to the Boat People.....
Greg
