Progress Report 12.27.08

Happy Holidays everyone. Hope you all have some time off to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.



Well the busy holiday has kept me on the go... but I have been able to sneak in some build time.

Worked on the front passenger seat - getting the hinge fit and screwed together. I will probably not attach the lid permanently to the seat frame until I decide which finish I am going to use on the interior. The seat backs are glued and rough sanded as well.

Fly fishing the Deschutes

Last Tuesday my friend from Bend and I fly fished the Deschutes very close to the Warm Springs junction. The weather was very cold, but clear. We parked in a camp site parking area and hiked a few hundred yards to the river to begin wading and fishing. My friend forgot to load his waders into the truck and decided to fish in tennis shoes and shorts anyway. I was cold in my chest waders after ten minutes, yet he fished on enjoying every minute. Pack's Progress

My boat is pretty much a Roger Fletcher product. I built his model, read his book and had lunch with him to further pick his mind.

Have currently finished assembly of ribs, and milled all 16' Ash to size. When i manage to get my workshop up to 60 I will epoxy ribs-they are Alaskan Yellow Cedar. Trim is Oregon Ash. Stem is whie oak and transom is Honduran… Continue
