In 1974 or 75 I was doing a hike called the Hopi Salt Trail in Grand Canyon where we entered on a side canyon to the Little Colorado and scrambled down to the Little Colorado and then hiked down the Little Colorado and down to the confluence with the Colorado River, caught up with the Beamer Trail and took that over to the base of the Tanner Trail and went out the Tanner Trail, all in 7 days. While walking on the Beamer Trail about 500 feet above the river every once in a while you were…

What alternatives are there to Sawyer, Smoker, Cataract, Carlisle, or Lamiglass, and Barkley Sound? I am looking for a set of 9' oars with at least 6" wide blades.

Hi wooden boat people,
I guess there really is no cure for compulsive boat building. (LOL) So I’m going to build two more drift boats this fall while waiting for the ski season to start.…

I just went through this exercise and thought it maybe helpful to others. My goal was to build a roller with as much material readily available and minimize high cost materials and specialty skills.

Hey does anyone know where we can see the photos from the 2013 Mckenzie wood boat show, that were taken by the photographer with the underater camera and the ones from the diver at eagle rock Lodge.

Since I have been following for a while (some beautiful boats folks) I thought I would stop and say hi and to also thank all of you for all the info you have already provided me.
I live in New England (Dover, NH) so…

Get up. Have some good coffee. Run your boat down to the Dersham's. Go back home and cook breakfast for your family and friends. Go down to the riverbank behind the cabin with your granddaughter and take pictures of wooden drift boats on a sunny day. Then spend the afternoon looking at great craftsmanship and meeting wonderful people. Top it off with a good friend getting a wonderful gift, and a great dinner with good friends, it really doesn't get much better.
